Purpose:

Edge Industrial Staffing is currently seeking a Maintenance Manager in Mooresville, IN. The Maintenance Manager will coordinate the maintenance and repair of a wide variety of production or processing machines and equipment with minimal downtime. Involves checking, setting up, and operating various types of production tools and equipment prior to approving for production use.

Essential Duties:

  • Directly supervise all employees assigned to the department. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Includes training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work.
  • Report to Plant Manager and Production Manager any information that may impede the operation of the plant as soon as it becomes known and make recommendations to minimize downtime and expenses.
  • Monitor warranties and service guarantees. Notify personnel of impending expiration dates.
  • Conduct selective inventory monthly and verify with computerized inventory of maintenance parts and supplies.
  • Locate O.E.M. manufacturers and after-market distributors in order to obtain competitive costs on parts or improved service.
  • Oversee and direct the ordering of parts and supplies. Oversee bar code scanning of parts inventory.
  • Establish high morale throughout your department by showing fairness, consistency, and an interest in employee problems. Maintain confidentiality.
  • Initiate and/or maintain a cost-effective preventive maintenance program utilizing the MVP system.
  • Responsible for coordinating and implementing the overall maintenance program, which includes ensuring that equipment is on the preventive maintenance program and that schedules are valid, thorough, and completed according to the system schedule.
  • Conduct weekly Production/Safety meetings with department personnel.
  • Regular availability to address issues immediately as they arise, including during off-hours.
  • Implement, maintain, and support all company policies and procedures, including safety program and good housekeeping.
  • Assist in selection, evaluation, and installation of capital and expense projects.
  • Appraising performance by completing reviews on an annual basis – rewarding and disciplining employees, conflict resolution, team building, coaching and leading employees to improve, addressing complaints and resolving problems, documentation, and setting an example of superior behavior, attitude, and performance.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Demonstrate ability to teach maintenance classification, qualification requirements and proper maintenance procedures.
  • Follow up on all work orders to ensure repairs and work are performed properly.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Skill, Education, and Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Computer Data entry skills.
  • Demonstrated supervisory skills.
  • Four years maintenance experience in a manufacturing plant.

PREFERRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

  • College and/or related technical courses.
  • Five years’ experience in the paper packaging industry with heavy experience in electronics, mechanical, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electricity.

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Have the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Have the ability to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy.
  • Have the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume and rate.
  • Have the ability to apply concepts of high school math.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form.
  • Have the ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must have a working knowledge of the following: excellent knowledge of equipment design and capabilities that can be translated into efficient operation, cost issues in order to make daily decisions that will reduce overall costs and will help the supervisor find areas that require improvement, maintain quality standards, and meet regulatory requirements including but not limited to wage and hour requirements, environmental and waste minimization, company policies, and personnel requirements including OSHA, DEQ, and EEO.
  • Certificates, Licenses, & Registrations – maintain a current lift truck operator license and/or appropriate certification to work in certain areas or on certain equipment.
